【九合一選舉】是哪九種?
表達"幾合一"時，用的是"~ in 1"，這個用法也常用於介紹多功能產品，例如3-in-1 washer & dryer (三合一洗衣機), all-in-one body lotion(全效性身體乳液)…等。
台灣的九合一選舉(9-in-1 elections)是將九類地方公職人員合併於同一天選舉，性質屬於地方選舉(local elections)，包含的項目如下：
直轄市長Mayor of Special Municipality
直轄市議員Councilor of Special Municipality
縣市長Magistrate and Mayor
縣市議員County/City Councilor (或Member of County/City Council)
鄉鎮市長Township Mayor
鄉鎮市民代表Township Representative
山地原住民區長Chief Administrator of Indigenous Area
山地原住民區民代表Representative of Indigenous Area
村里長Village Chief
【參選】和【競選連任】的英文怎麼說？
參選可以用run for office或run for + "所競選的職位"表達，例如：
Tom was deeply frustrated by the current state of politics, so he decided to run for mayor.
湯姆對於政治現狀深感不滿，因此決心參選市長。
而要說"競選連任"，除了可以用run for re-election或run for a second term表達以外，也可以使用seek re-election。例如：
The incumbent mayor announced yesterday that he would not seek re-election.
現任市長昨天宣布不再競選連任。

掃街拜票street canvassing
催票get out the vote
It is believed that street canvassing helps get out the vote in elections.

選舉最令人詬病的就是各種奧步(dirty tricks)了，你知道該怎麼形容這些選舉亂象嗎？

【vote】的正確用法
"vote"當名詞時可以指選票，當動詞則是投票，動作有對象(受詞)時，後面必須接介係詞"for"。例如：
A: Have you decided who to vote for?
B: I don't like any of the candidates, so I'm not voting this time.
A: 你決定要投給誰了嗎？
B: 所有的候選人我都不喜歡，所以我這次沒有要去投。
除了vote，表示"去投票"還可以用go to the polls。例如：
Next Saturday, the people of Carson City will go to the polls to elect a new mayor.
下週六卡森市的市民將會投票選出新市長。

競選口號比一比
競選口號的英文是campaign slogan。台灣的選舉活動中大家常喊的"凍蒜"，直譯會是win the election或get elected，但是老外在造勢場上其實並不會這麼喊，反而是競選團隊為了凸顯候選人特質並且讓選民留下深刻的印象，會設計吸睛好記的(catchy)的英文短語當作口號。
2020年美國總統大選時，拜登的競選口號是"Our Best Days Still Lie Ahead." (我們的好日子還在後頭)。川普在2016年採用過去雷根總統曾經用的"Make America Great Again."(讓美國再次偉大)，而2020年競選連任時，則推出了續作"Keep America Great."(讓美國繼續偉大)。這些口號是不是都非常有力又好記呢？
