聖誕節寫X'mas竟然是錯的?!
聖誕節的慶祝活動包含像是寫張表達感謝和祝福的聖誕卡片、還有精挑細選、加上閃亮包裝的禮物送給親友等等，就算身在台灣應該也不會太陌生。然而不知道你在這令人目眩神迷的歡樂氣氛中，有沒有眼尖的注意過，「聖誕快樂」到底是寫成「X'mas」還是「Xmas」呢？有甚麼差別呢？
其實聖誕節就是耶穌基督(Chris)的降生日，當天天主教會會舉辦神聖的祭典—彌撒(missa)來慶祝，合起來就是英文Christmas(基督彌撒)。而「Xmas」的X就是取自耶穌基督希臘名字ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ(譯作Xristos或Christos，基督的意思)的首字X，作為「Christmas」的代寫。
因此「X'mas」的寫法其實是錯誤的，因為X並不是英文、也不是任何字的縮寫，並不需要加上代表縮寫的「'」符號才對喔！
