加泰隆尼亞的十月

◎ Catalonia 加泰隆尼亞
西班牙東北部的一個省，也和法國交界，自古以來即發展自己的王國；後來因為聯姻併入西班牙，儘管如此Catalonia一直是西班牙經濟成長最高的地區，近來更因為西班牙的經濟衰退而要求獨立。

◎ Catalonian 加泰隆尼亞人
Catalan當地的語言，當地人以這個語言和文化不同於西班牙深感自豪。

◎ Pyrenees 庇里牛斯山
加泰隆尼亞和法國交界的山脈，東邊綿延至地中海the Mediterranean。  

Catalonia的省會，也是最大的城市，想必大家都不陌生，猜猜看是哪個城市吧！答案就是…
Barcelona  巴塞隆納─Catalonia的藝術之都，其中以Antoni Gaudi (安東尼 ‧ 高第)的建築最知名：
◎ Sagrada Familia  聖家堂：佔地廣大的天主教堂，目前還在建設中，預計2026年才大致完工！
◎ Park Guell  癸耳公園：用馬賽克拼接的概念揉合糖果屋的趣味，彷彿一個大型的童話世界。

以上兩個地方都是UNESCO指定的世界遺產，有沒有讓你覺得心癢癢的呢？
小編十年前拜訪過，到現在還回味無窮呢！

A conversation between a tourist(T) and a Catalonian(C)
 
T: Look at those voters lining outside the polling station. What's going on?
C: We are holding a referendum today here in Catalonia.
T: What kind of referendum is it?
C: Catalonians are tired of Spanish government. They want to split from Spain.
T: As far as I know, this autonomous community has been part of Spain for eight centuries.
    Why do they want Catalonia to become an independent state?
C: Catalonia has developed its own language and culture before it was united with Spain.
    Despite the fact that Catalonians are wealthier, they need to pay more taxes than the rest of Spain.
    They think it's against human rights.
T: No wonder the locals are voting in favor of independence. I just glanced over the online news.
    The police are trying to block the polling station.
C: True. Have you checked the famous buildings by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona?
T: The Sagrada Familia and the Park Guell? It goes without saying! Both are world heritages designated by UNESCO.
    I'll definitely visit them again as soon asthe Sagrada Familia is complete.

遊客：有看到在投票站外面排隊的投票者嗎？發生什麼事？
當地人：我們正在這裡舉辦公投。
遊客：什麼樣的公投？
當地人：加泰隆尼亞人受夠了西班牙政府，他們想從西班牙分出去。
遊客：就我所知，這個自治區域已經屬於西班牙八百年，為什麼他們想要成為獨立的國家？
當地人：加泰隆尼亞和西班牙合併之前就發展自己的語言和文化，儘管加泰隆尼亞人較富有，他們必須納比其他地方更多的稅，他們覺得這樣違反人權。
遊客：難怪他們傾向投票獨立，我剛看了一下線上新聞，警察正在封鎖投票所 。
當地人：沒錯。你有看過高第在巴塞隆納的知名建築物嗎？
遊客：聖家堂和癸耳公園？當然！兩者都是UNESCO指定的世界遺產，一旦聖家堂完工我一定立馬再來拜訪。
