「除了」英文 1 ：Except (for): 不包含…在內

Except 可以當介系詞，後面接名詞。例句：

1. The shop is open every day except (for) Thursday.
(除了星期四之外，這家店每天都有開。)

2. Everyone was invited except (for) Sam.
(除了Sam之外，每個人都被邀請了。)

3. Except for a woman jogging, the park was empty. (在句首時不能省略for)
(除了一個在跑步的女子之外，公園裡沒有人。)

Except也可以當連接詞。例句：

4. Our shirts are the same, except (that) mine is a size large.
(我們的襯衫是一樣的，除了我的尺寸是大號。)

5. David cycles to work except when it rains.
(除了下雨之外，David都騎腳踏車上班。)

Besides是介系詞。例句：

1. Besides tennis, what other sports do you play?
(除了網球之外，你還從事哪些其它運動？)

2. Besides working as an actress, Amy also runs a flower shop in her spare time.
(除了從事演員工作之外，Amy空閒時也經營一間花店。)

Besides表示「除了…之外」。Beside表示「在…旁邊」。例句：

1. Bruce asked his daughter to sit beside him.
(Bruce叫他女兒坐在他旁邊。)

2. Just leave the bag on the table beside the window.
(把袋子放在窗戶旁的桌子上就好。)

Apart from與aside from都是介系詞。它們可以表示except，也可以表示besides。例句：

1. Apart from the dessert, it was a nice meal.
(除了點心之外，那頓飯很好吃。句意：點心不好吃。)

2. I answered all the questions on my math exam apart from the last one.

Other than是介系詞，表示except，不過經常用於否定句。例句：

(除了下面列出的項目以外，其它項目沒有折扣。句意：只有下面列出的項目有折扣。)

3. This contract cannot be signed by anyone other than yourself.
(除了你本人，誰也不能在這張合約上簽字。句意：只有你能簽合約。)

4. Judy doesn't eat beef, but other than that she'll eat just about anything.
(Judy不吃牛肉，不過除了牛肉之外，她甚麼都吃。)
