現今平價快速時尚（fast fashion）已進攻至台北各大時尚潮流商圈。H&M，Zara，Gap，21st century，Uniqulo，都已改寫時尚版圖，今年奢華時尚（luxury fashion）似乎有些無力，韓國的平價時尚品牌也相繼於台北據點。流行趨勢瞬息萬變，你有跟上潮流嗎？首先，我們來認識時尚界，與潮流雜誌常用的基本慣用詞語和常用的服飾英文說法。
時尚界常用辭彙
●metrosexual: n. 都會型男，大都會男性。指會花時間在自己穿著打扮，關注時尚保養及上健身房，擁有強烈的美感觸覺並且會花大量的時間及金錢在他的外表及生活方式的男人。
●in: adj. 流行的，時髦的。
●garment: n. 衣著，服裝。
●accessory: n. 配件
●mannequin: n. 人形模特兒
●runway: n. 伸展台
●little black dress: n. 黑色小洋裝，時尚界必備女性單品。
●fashionista: n. 時尚達人。瘋狂追求時髦與流行的人。
●vintage: n. 復古，retrospective fashion
●trend setter: n. 開啟流行穿法的人
●High street fashion: n. affordable and trendy fashion. 平價也時髦的時尚
●chic: adj. 發音為sheeeeek，法文字，時髦的。也可說fashionable, trendy，stylish。
●haute couture: n. 法文，高級訂製服
●fashion police: n. 時尚警察。指會對穿搭不佳的人吹禁止口哨的時尚達人。
●collection: n. 時裝系列
●polka dot: n. 波卡圓點圖案，時尚的經典圓點裝
●avant garde: n. 法文，指前衛，實驗派
●fabric: n. 衣料This fabric is water proof and fire proof.
●whimsical: adj. 古怪卻好玩有趣的I really like whimsical dresses that fit my personality.
●color palette: 調色¸ 色調
●silhouette: n. 輪廓
●push the envelope: v. 挑戰你的極限例: To be a successful designer in fashion industry, you always have to push the envelope in every piece you design.
●fierce: adj. 強勢的，勇敢的Fashion Conversation
時尚對話教學
A: Do you know the new H&M shop is going to come back to ShiMen MRT stop? This garment I'm wearing is David Beckham collection. Chic, isn't it?
B: Yeah, it's quite in and has a beautiful silhouette. You always dress sharp and smart. Typical metrosexual man. I wish I could have the fashion sense like you.
A: It's not easy to be a fashionista! You need to watch project runway and read hundreds of fashion magazines and blogs.
In Project Runway, I learn what's haute couture, avant garde, polka dot, and little black dress, so many useful iconic terms in fashion industry.
B: I've watched that show. It's very inspiring and provocativein terms of creativity. Heidi Klum is an irreplaceable host. She is fierce!!!
A: I really like Tim Gun. He is the mentor of the contestants in the show. He always says "Make it work." and "You have to push the envelope."By the way, who's your favorite contestant designer?
B: Of all the seasons I've watched, I think Christian Siriano in season 4 got my attention. He made fabulous collection and has a cohesive color palette and strong voice. He is a trendsetter and a cute fashion police.
A: Oh, the new season 14 is on, I've got to watch it, Auf Wiedersehen!!!
A: 你知道新的H&M 即將要回歸西門捷運站嗎? 我現在在穿的是貝克漢系列耶，時髦吧，是不是?
B: 是阿，它很時尚也有美麗的輪廓。你總是穿的精明也很幹練。典型的都會型男。我真希望我能有你的時尚品味。
A: 當時尚達人可不容易。你需要看決戰時裝伸展台與閱讀很多的時尚雜誌與部落格。我在決戰時裝伸展台裡學到很多有用的重量級詞彙，例如高級訂製服，前衛風格，波卡圓點和小黑洋裝。
B: 我看過也! 它在創造性上面非常的激勵人心與具話題性。海蒂克隆是無法取代的主持人。她很厲害。
A: 我真的很喜歡Tim Gun.他是節目裡參賽者的導師。他總是說「加油」和 「你要超越你的極限」。順便一提，你最喜歡哪個參賽設計師？
B: 在所有我看過的決戰時裝伸展台¸ 我覺得第四季的Christian Siriano 有得到我的注意。他的系列設計得很美，色彩上有連貫也有看到他的獨特風格。他是一個時尚領導者也是可愛的時尚警察。
A: ㄟ，新的14季要播了，我要去看電視啦。掰拉(德語，海蒂克隆常說的掰掰)
布里安娜非常喜歡看project runway，常常會被節目裡有趣的當集挑戰而感到無比的激勵人心。 由於對時尚與設計的熱愛，常常會跟他高中的同學，目前於上海的時尚化妝師兼造型師分享生活的點滴，記住，時尚就是擁抱年輕與色彩，創意與設計。我們真的需要時尚警察來抓抓台灣違規的人民，讓台灣的普羅大眾好好學習歐洲的穿搭技巧，並善用髮型，即使買菜也要美美的。運動也要美美的。投票也要美美的。刮颱風也要吃肉包吃得美美的!!!
