Part 1: 看圖辨義
學生看圖畫後，聽錄音機播出題目以及A、B、C三個英文敘述後，選出所看到的圖畫最相符的答案。
例題：
What will Sally do after school on Friday?

準備方法：學生需要熟悉生活字彙與它們的正確發音。
Part 2: 問答
學生聽錄音機播出一個問句或直述句後，從A、B、C三個回答或回應中，選出一個最適合的答覆。

Part 4: 簡短談話

例題：

Part 1: 詞彙

Part 2: 朗讀句子與短文
先用一分鐘的時間閱讀試卷上的句子與短文，然後以正常的速度，在一分鐘內將句子和短文清楚正確念出來。
例題：
Flora is a student in high school. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Lee, who teaches English. Mrs. Lee is kind to the students and helps them both during and after class every day. Flora has learned a lot from her. She wants to be a teacher someday, too.
準備方法：訓練閱讀理解速度。熟悉詞彙發音與句子語調。
Part 3: 回答問題
題目經由耳機播出，每題播出二次，不印在試卷上。聽到題目後，馬上回答。每題回答時間15秒，請在作答時間內儘量表達。
例題：
What did you do last night?
準備方法：平時利用生活各種情境，練習自問自答或與同伴互相問答。

Part 1: 單句寫作
依照題目的提示，改寫、重組、合併句子。

Part 2: 段落寫作
依據三個連環圖畫的提示，看圖說故事，寫一篇約50字的短文。

上個星期，你到高雄(Kaohsiung)的親戚家玩，下面是你每天的活動，請根據這些圖片寫一篇約50字的簡短遊記。
準備方法：熟悉生活詞彙與基本文法結構。多練習看圖描述寫作。
